At DropSecure, it is our mission to empower you with technology that protects your digital valuables in a hassle-free manner. DropSecure protects your privacy and safeguards your data using military-grade algorithms before they leave your device. With end-to-end encryption, encrypted uploads, decrypted downloads, two-factor authentication, cryptographic keys, and zero knowledge* transfers, we offer the ultimate technology to keep your data safe from the data centers.
So whether you are an individual, business or an enterprise, you are always aware of who has access to your sensitive documents. Most importantly, no one owns the keys to your documents apart from you, not even us.
DropSecure’s military grade encryption is enabled using randomly generated AES 256-bit symmetric keys on your computer. Every new file version saved on the DropSecure platform automatically regenerates a fresh encryption key.
Every file you store, share or send via DropSecure is enabled with unique end-to-end encryption technology. So you can be assured that every file is encrypted in real-time, using military grade algorithms before it leaves your device and cannot be decrypted until the recipient safely downloads the file at their end.
At DropSecure, your download links are protected at all times—for registered and unregistered users alike. An unauthorized entity compromising your download link would not be able to access or decrypt your data because they would lack the decryption key and/or the OTP.
Every recipient is verified before allowing access to download the files you send. All unregistered users need to enter a one-time verification code (OTP) in order to download any files sent to them. For enhanced security, they can choose to receive this code on their phones via text. This prevents unauthorized parties from being able to access your data even if your email account becomes compromised.
Zero-knowledge* file transfers
What makes DropSecure highly secure, is its military grade end-to-end encryption. However, if required by law, DropSecure could intercept the keys during transit. Zero-knowledge transfers avoid this by not sending keys through the DropSecure system, making it impossible for us to read or encrypt your data regardless of any legal requirement. The zero-knowledge option requires both parties to register with DropSecure using their email addresses.
*Zero-knowledge transfer facility is available for registered users only.
File vault protection
DropSecure uses ‘public key cryptography’ to protect assets for registered users. Each registered user receives a pair of public and private keys. Data sent to a registered user is always encrypted using their public key. The private key is encrypted using a strong BCrypt password hash with an AES-256 symmetric key before being stored on our servers.
Our team uses DropSecure to share and receive highly sensitive documents with our clients. Their end-to-end encryption helps us meet compliance requirements and gives our clients peace of mind knowing that their private information is secure.
